Camp Sign Up Process for Capernaum Friends
- We will attempt to honor Young Life national policy and take 75% first-time campers onto trips.
- Young Life national policy is Capernaum campers should be high school aged up to 23 years old.
- To provide the appropriate leader to camper ratio, available camper spots are dependent on the number of volunteer leaders we have going to camp. Please consider helping us find more volunteer leaders so we can take more kids to camp. Siblings, buddies and aides are great leaders. Contact Daniel Harris for more information.
- Young Life paid staff are responsible for selecting camp volunteer leaders. Volunteer leader training and criminal/background checks along with honoring Young Life's policy of having volunteers who can agree and adhere to the Faith and Conduct policy are non-negotiable.
- Young Life staff are responsible for managing the amount of volunteer leaders needed per camper/group but will need parent/guardian consultation as well.
- We will waitlist campers as we continue to add volunteer leaders that can go to camp.
- We will prioritize our camping list this way:
- Students that have been coming to at least one semester of Young Life clubs.
- 1st and 2nd timers who will bring a Young Life approved volunteer with them.
- 1st and 2nd timers.
- 3rd and 4th timers (and beyond) who will bring a Young Life approved volunteer with them.
- 3rd and 4th timers (and beyond)
- Our day camps are open to all current Young Life Capernaum friends.
- Camp Work Crew and Summer Staff (weekend and month-long summer sessions) are available and encouraged for our Capernaum friends that have been to camp.

Located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, nestled next to the Plumas National Forest, the historic town of Woodleaf had its start as a stagecoach and hotel stop during the California gold rush in the mid 1800s.
We welcome kids of all abilities to our camps. At Woodleaf, all of our main buildings are accessible to strollers or wheelchairs, and we have a handful of cabins that are designed to be accessible (special housing needs may be requested by your child's trip leader).
We will do our best to help every guest participate in activities. We want every kid to have the best week of their life as they come to camp!
Kids will stay in dorms filled with bunk beds and enjoy incredible food served in the dining hall.
Activities include: Challenge/ropes course, swimming, indoor and outdoor games, water slide into Woodleaf Pond, connecting with other students and leaders, cabin time, music and messy games!
